Couldn't help it

I've not made a poppy quilt for ages, but I feel a new short series coming on...

I've chosen what I think are the best two images from the batch I took the other evening and I'm printing them to a cotton/linen fabric. Unlike the fabrics we usually print on this one isn't white and I love how the natural colour of the fabric shows through the transparent dyes and modifies the image.

The images are scaled up to fill the width of the fabric, just shy of 60" in this case. I've inserted a split into both images and have a plan but I'm not going to say what it is until I know if it works or not!

These new quilts will be for Orientation, well they are Oriental Poppies after all! The next step is to steam fix the dyes. I'll keep you posted on progress.

  3. When I saw your poppy photos the other day I wondered what you might do with them. The pics are gorgeous as is the fabric.
