Sew Saturday - cord trousers

You might remember I sewed these trousers for Amelie a while ago.

They're from a Burda pattern and go together so easily. The pattern version calls for lightweight cottons and are cropped for a summer look, but this time of year we need trousers that meet socks!

For this version I've lengthened the leg considerably, made them out of fine needlecord and lined them with jersey so they are super cosy.

The pockets are cute, just lined with a contrast pink fabric and set into the side seam and knit waistband. I'm finding it really hard to track down interesting prints on needlecord, well, ones that aren't too expensive anyway. These aren't one of my market 50p a metre bargain makes, but knowing the pattern sews up and fits so nicely, I don't mind spending a little more.

Thanks for visiting the blog today, hope you're having a creative weekend.

  4. These are beautiful, I love the print on the fabric and Amelie is such a lovely model. Also I loved the new DMTV video, I've never tried this method of colouring fabric as am looking forward to giving it a go.
