The Raffle Prizes
Let's take a look at the other raffle prizes in the Ruby Star Quilt Raffle...
First up, generously donated by Husqvarna Viking is this incredible prize of an Epic 980Q sewing machine with an RRP of £4499. Find out all about this machine on their website.
Next is this beautiful quilt made by Catherine Nicholls. Catherine's a Canadian artist who Linda and I have worked and exhibited with for many years. When Catherine heard about the Ruby Star project she offered to make a quilt as an additional prize. Often working with ravens and the First Nation stories of her local area Catherine's Ruby Raven is hand pieced and machine appliquéd and quilted.
I've been amazed by people's generosity and when this quilt arrived unannounced in the post one day, you can imagine I was quite taken aback! Made by Jill Packer, it's hand pieced and machine quilted. Jill made it after reading about the Ruby Star project and stitched as she travelled. After months of looking at my red and black stars, I just love this blue and yellow version.
And finally my friends at Madeira have kindly donated two Cotona 30 Quilt Boxes. When they asked me what I would like as a prize, I instantly said these. The Cotona 30 threads are one of my favourites for machine quilting, with the bonus that you can use them for hand quilting too.
I'm just thrilled to be able to give these prizes away. If you've missed all the news, then let me fill you in:
The Ruby Star Raffle will be held at Festival of Quilts, 1st - 4th August 2019 at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. Please come and find me at stand QIA32 to view the prizes (including my quilt), and buy your tickets.
