OK, so my blogging has fallen by the wayside for a few days, but I have a really, really good reason.

Introducing.....

The Portrait Shuffle!

This is an exciting project from Through Our Hands that you can be part of. Let me tell you more:

In August, Through Our Hands are exhibiting at Festival of Quilts, Europe's premier quilt show, at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. In conjunction with this exhibition of world renowned textile artists, we are displaying Portrait Shuffle, a collection of wonderful portraits by you guys!

We want as many people as possible to join in with the project so we can make a HUGE donation to Save The Children. If you've been watching the news lately, you can't fail to have seen the terrible situations that children face around the world. As an individual sometimes it can feel as though it's impossible to make a difference. But, if lots of people do something, even something small, like join in with Portrait Shuffle, then all those individual actions make a massive difference and a huge contribution to change.

Be creative, be part of something amazing, be part of change.

Here's how it works:

This is an amazing opportunity for anyone, anywhere in the world, to be part of an exhibition of portraits. At the same time, you’ll be helping Through Our Hands raise funds for Save The Children, who do so much to help children around the world be safe, healthy and have an opportunity to learn and live their lives to the full. 

Not only will your portrait be part of a wonderful display of creative work, but it will then be shuffled and you’ll receive someone else’s portrait in return - an original artwork to keep!

• Sign up for a Portrait Shuffle pack on the Through Our Hands website or blog.

• We’ll send you a Portrait Shuffle pack in the post

• Create your portrait in any style and any media working on the canvas in the pack.

• Post your portrait back to us (we’ll send you handy labels in the pack).

• Be exhibited at Festival of Quilts!

• After the exhibition, we’ll do ‘The Shuffle’ and will send you a portrait by someone else in the post.

Postage costs for sending you the pack.

Exhibition of your complete Portrait Shuffle canvas at 'Portrait' by Through Our Hands, Festival of Quilts, NEC, Birmingham, UK. August 2017.

Postage costs of sending you someone else's Portrait Shuffle canvas.

What's not included?

You'll need to post your completed canvas back to us (we're in the UK) at your own cost. 
Entry to the exhibition. We'd love for you to come and see your work on the wall, and enjoy everything else that the exhibition has to offer. More information can be found on the Festival of Quilts website.
