Visiting MOMA Wales

During our recent visit to Wales we made time to go to Machynlleth, particularly to go to MOMA Wales. There were several exhibitions on display but I enjoyed the work of D Alun Evans in his exhibition Landmarks.


As you can see, the gallery rooms are lovely and well lit.


I thought Alun's work captured the landscape perfectly and I love all of the loose, scratchy and spattery marks.




Couldn't help but see parallels with this painting (above) and Eszter Bornemisza's piece Jacob's Ladder (detail, below).
